Pull up to U Street as we celebrate Black History Month the DC way. Join us at Ben’s and Ben’s Next Door (1208 and 1211 U St NW Washington, DC 20009) for a day rooted in culture, community, and Black Broadway energy.

Kids can arrive at 2 PM (right after school), to meet Kelsye, color and play a few kids games.

Doors open for the event at 5 PM (during Ben’s Next Door Happy Hour), with the vibe officially set by DC’s own DJ Marauder and Eb King 6–10 PM—bringing the soundtrack of DC to life all night long.

Starting at 7 PM, we are tapping in with The Wave USA for games, trivia, spades, and surprises that spotlight Black history across the U Street corridor. Stick around, play along, and connect—because at 9:30 PM we’re running a raffle with prizes you won’t want to miss.

This is more than a happy hour and community celebration—it’s a love letter to Black DC, our businesses, and the people who keep U Street alive. Come early, stay late, and meet your Main Street.
