Lindsay N. Hicks
Main Street Manager, U Street
Originally from Ohio, Lindsay has lived in the Washington Metropolitan Area for over 20 years. Before coming to District Bridges, she has had a career that has been threaded by supporting the small business community. Whether it be in her role as a Small Business Champion at Bank of America, where she was a personal banker; to her time as a Technical Assistance Manager at the Washington Area Community Investment Fund (Wacif), where she assisted small businesses with a range of needs, such as business plan writing, and loan preparation; on through to her time at the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund), where she was able to help provide grants to organizations supporting underserved communities, including those like Wacif.
While attending the Howard University, where she majored in Political Science and minored in Community Development, Lindsay had the opportunity to intern with what was then known as the 14th & U Main Street Initiative. During that time she learned about the history and vibrancy of the U Street corridor, and has had what she considers a “full circle moment” to return as the Main Street Manager for U Street. Her goal is to continue to build upon the legacy that has already been established in the community, while integrating the newness that comes with an ever-changing neighborhood.
In her spare time, Lindsay enjoys creating crafts of various kinds, along with spending quality time with her husband and two sons.
