What is the DC Holiday Hunt?
DC Holiday Hunt is a digital scavenger hunt all over Washington DC that rewards participants for shopping local, attending festive events, and creating new traditions in the community. It is free to participate, though some challenges involve showing proof of patronage to a small businesses (aka a receipt).
Do I have to download an app?
No! DC Holiday Hunt can be played in any browser- on a laptop, desktop, phone or tablet, and all you need to pick up where you left off is the email you created your account in.
Why is this campaign important this year?
While it’s always important to support local businesses, the campaign this year feels especially poignant. We are going through a turbulent time for small businesses and many of our beloved local spots that make our communities feel unique are at risk of closing. If people only shop online or at big box chain stores, our local business community will cease to exist. We need to show up and show out for our small businesses all year round, but especially during the holiday season!
